Gilmore Girls Fall
Wednesday, 2 October 2024
Are we all rewatching Gilmore Girls again now that fall is here?! I'm halfway through season 1 AGAIN. It's my comfort show and I could honestly have it on constantly. It's crazy that I'm now older that Lorelai when the show started...
Nobody Wants This... Actually, we all do!

Seth Cohen grew up and melted our hearts all over again. And when I say "our hearts", I mean, us, millennials. We fell for his nerdy awkwardness in The OC and now, again, all grown up as a nerdy, passionate, and very kind-hearted man. And the chemistry he has with Veronica, um, I mean, Kristen Bell, is SO good. Seriously, watch this show!
iZombie
Monday, 3 April 2017
Season 3 of iZombie starts up tomorrow and I'm so excited for it! It's easily one of my favourite shows. I adore the writing, the concept, the jokes, and the characters, especially Liv and Ravi. I've read the comic books that the show is based on. Yes, they change things, but the overall idea is the same: zombies can function like normal humans with a regular dose of brains. Also, the memories and personality traits from the brain will affect the zombie who ingested the brains. That is until the brain has worn off and passed through the body.
If you haven't watched iZombie, or aren't caught up, what are you waiting for?! I won't give away spoilers on how season 2 ended but let's just say that season 3 should start strong as we were left with a crazy ending. And if the poster for season 3 is any indication, I'm pumped to see how things turn out.
To celebrate the return of iZombie, I wanted to share a few of my favourite iZombie merchandise.
Clockwise from top right:
1. Liv Moore Pop! Vinyl
2. iZombie planner stickers (I need these!)
3. Ravi and Liv themed Minifigs print (how cool are these prints? Check out the shop!)
4. Brain pendant necklace
If you're watching the season 3 premiere tomorrow night, enjoy!

As we come to the end of 2016, I'm getting excited for new releases coming out next year in 2017.
1. The official trailer for Riverdale on CW was released last week. This is the TV show based on the Archie comics. It looks dark and full of drama and I'm so excited to see how the show is. You can watch the trailer below.
2. Funko announced a Winnie the Pooh line of Pop! Vinyls and I'm squeeing over the Eeyore one!
3. The teaser trailers being released for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 have me so pumped for the movie to come out next year. And look how cute Baby Groot is!!
What are you excited for in 2017?

This past weekend was San Diego Comic Con and as usual a ton of trailers and news were shared in the convention halls. I always enjoy catching up on all the news, panels, and trailers at the end of the weekend. These top the list of what I'm most excited for:
1. Wonder Woman Trailer - wow! It looks incredibly kickass and I'm very excited for this movie now.
2. Legion Trailer - I knew there was an X-Men show in the works but I didn't realize it would center on Legion, Charles Xavier's son. I'm very curious about this series.
3. The LEGO Batman Movie - this full-length trailer shows just how hilarious this movie is going to be. Will Arnett is the perfect LEGO Batman!
4. New trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them - yet another trailer for this movie that gives me goosebumps. I'm beyond excited to be back in that world.
A lot of the other trailers released looked amazing and I'm pumped for all the new Marvel TV shows and the return of The Walking Dead! What SDCC news has you excited?

5 Fandom Friday: Characters With My Favourite Fictional Closet
Friday, 20 May 2016
There are so many characters that have wardrobes I'd love to raid. It's actually hard to narrow down this list. But these are the top 5 characters with my favourite fictional closet:
1. Charlotte 'Chuck' Charles - Pushing Daisies
2. Jessica Day - New Girl
3. Joan Watson - Elementary
4. Lorelai Gilmore - Gilmore Girls
5. Liv Moore - iZombie
Pieces from all of these fictional closets would make an ideal wardrobe for me!
What are some of your favourite fictional closets?

What I'm Loving Now

February is almost over and I have the Springtime itch... I want sunny days, open windows, no more Winter coats. I blame retail. The stores are starting to fill up with camping gear, gardening supplies, and lots of pastels for Easter.
Broad City
Between social media and one of my best friends, this show kept being recommended to me. I watched the first season and I loved it. It took a couple of episodes to grow on me but by the end of the season I really liked Abbi and Ilana. I'm looking forward to starting the second season to see more of their adventures.
"Broad City follows two women throughout their daily lives in New York City, making the smallest and mundane events hysterical and disturbing to watch all at the same time."
Make Me Like You
Then, there's Gwen Stefani's new single - Make Me Like You. I'm addicted and it's the perfect song for nice weather. My excitement to play this song (and her entire new album) while driving with my car windows down this Spring is strong!

What I'm Loving Now

Over the last month, I was introduced to the amazing Ron Swanson. I started watching Parks and Recreation from the beginning and I have flown through the first two seasons. I feel like I could devour the entire series super quick but I want to space it out a bit. So I'm taking a small break to catch up on the first 10 episodes of Awkward. By a third of the way through season two of Parks and Recreation, I was completely addicted. I loved the characters and got right into the story. And like a lot of people, Ron Swanson is by far my favourite character on the show. I love Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) too of course. Her friendship with Ron is super cute and funny.
I've also been on an audio book kick over the summer. I listened to The Fault in Our Stars by John Green over the course of a week and holy crap, I loved it!
First of all, the voice actor who narrates the book is wonderful and fit the character perfectly! And second, the story is just so sweet, heartbreaking and inspiring. I can't even describe it perfectly. It completely brought back memories and pulled at my heart strings because of my own cancer experience. But it wasn't in a bad way. My initial thoughts on this book was that it was going to be too sad and depressing and I know a few people who think the same. But it's not. Yes, tears filled my eyes numerous times while listening to it. It's just different and makes you happy to be alive. The characters are incredibly inspirational. Just read it!
I'm currently half way through the audio book for Divergent. Seriously, audio books have become my new favourite thing. I listen to them while I sew (since the headphones block out the noise from my sewing machine) and while tidying up our place. I'm really enjoying Divergent so far. I've gotten to a point in the book where I can feel the addiction is setting in. Little things are popping up and happening that have really grabbed my attention and I'm really looking forward to when I can listen to more!
What are you into right now? Any recommendations?
I leave you with this fun and lovely quote...

I just finished re-watching Season One of Suburgatory. My friend lent me the season which worked out perfectly because Adam has been up North working so I've had the TV all to myself.
And just like the first time I watched Suburgatory, I loved Tessa Altman instantly..... her hair, clothes, attitude, and just overall character. Every time I see the show I want to cut my hair like Tessa's and embrace my wavy hair. I also adore her wardrobe in the show. Her style is a mix of tomboy and preppy. She wears a lot of dresses and skirts. But they're usually paired with a military-style jacket and biker boots. I love it!
After seeing Jane Levy (Tessa) in Evil Dead, I thought I'd have a hard time watching her in Suburgatory again. But nope... within a couple of episodes I was laughing at Tessa's debates and conversations with her father (played by Jeremy Sisto).
If you haven't seen Suburgatory, definitely give it a try! The characters and writing are hilarious!

I started watching Doctor Who yesturday! I say that with an exclamation mark because even after a few episodes, I get the love for the show. I was loving the Doctor and Rose together by the second episode. Their relationship is adorable! I'm excited to continue on and see David Tennant as the Doctor after this season.
I also started Season 6 of Supernatural recently. As usual, the story arc for this season has grabbed my attention and I want to keep watching episode after episode once I start. So far my favourite episode this season is, 'You Can't Handle the Truth'. Dean and Bobby make me laugh and I loved their honest conversation in this episode.
Who's up to date with The Walking Dead?!?! I've been on the edge of my seat during every recent episode. I have no idea what's going to happen and what the season finale will bring but I'm so excited for the last 2 episodes! I'm also a little scared about who might die...
The Girls season finale was good in my opinion. I'm very curious to see how Marnie and Charlie's relationship evolves next season. And even though Hannah's OCD bothered me this season, I do love that Adam came to her rescue at the end of the show. The 10 episode season is so short and it feels like a tease. It's frustrating to now have to wait for the next season!
We also started playing Rayman Origins which is super fun! I love playing video games with Adam but it can keep us up so late some nights. Besides lots of TV watching and video game playing, I've been continuously listening to She & Him's new single. I'm incredibly excited for their new album which comes out May 7th. Their album is going to be a perfect soundtrack for Spring days!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend! We have some friends coming over tonight for games and drinks!

One of my favourite new shows that started this TV show season is Elementary. I really love the characters and the chemistry between Sherlock and Watson. I've always been a fan of Lucy Liu and I'm really enjoying her as Joan Watson.
I realized pretty quickly into the season how much I love the clothes that Joan wears. She dresses on the casual side and she wears a ton of layers. I feel like her wardrobe is a very realistic one for a person to want to have. I have a lot of similar wardrobe pieces that she has - tights, booties, cardigans, and loose skirts. I love all the different shirts she pairs with her skirts. The patterns and designs are great and add some character to her outfits. Her tights, skirt and knit sweater combo seem to be a common outfit that she wears and I really love how it all looks together!
I love this shirt and jacket combo!
I'm also completely in love with her hair. She may have inspired me to start wearing my hair with a middle-part... and yes, my face shape is nothing like hers but I'm liking my hair better now!
I hope this show continues on for more seasons!

Currently I am watching season 2 of Pushing Daisies. I absolutely adore this show. I watched it while it aired on television and every once in a while I will re-watch the seasons. I love the fairy-tale, storybook feel to the episodes and sets.
The main female character, Charlotte 'Chuck' Charles, is incredibly sweet. Chuck's wardrobe is at the top of my list of dream wardrobes, along with Jess Day's from New Girl. Chuck's wardrobe is filled with vintage-looking dresses, oversized sunglasses, pretty heels and flats, and just brightly coloured and floral fabrics. I spend every episode oogling her clothing.
Pinterest is filled with images of Chuck's wardrobe and I came across a few Polyvore outfits as well. I could spend hours (and might have done that) looking at all the pictures.
While I watch this season I will have to stay away from the ModCloth website so I don't go on a shopping spree for a 'Chuck' wardrobe.

First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians! This is by far my favourite season of the year and Thanksgiving weekend feels like the official start. I have been caving into my pumpkin obsession for the last couple of weeks... pumpkin chai tea, pumpkin muffins from Tim Hortons, pumpkin pie, pumpkin loaf, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and pumpkin tarts!
I've also been keeping up with all the new television episodes during the last month. I'm enjoying the comedies - New Girl, 2 Broke Girls, The Mindy Project. And so far Grimm, Bones, and Elementary are entertaining me. I'm still watching Supernatural. I'm close to finishing season 2 and I'm so addicted to it. I've also been squeezing in some episodes from the first season of Pretty Little Liars. I've always wanted to watch this show and so far it's been pretty good. It's somewhat cheesy and the acting isn't the best, but I'm enjoying the storyline and some of the characters. Plus, it's fun seeing their clothes.
As for music, I was so excited to get my hands on No Doubt's new album, Push and Shove! Honestly, I'm a little bit disappointed. Some of the songs are not grabbing me. There are a few that I'd like to play on repeat though. Push and Shove being one of them.
There have been so many movies that have come out or are coming out this Fall that I'm so excited to see. We went to see Pitch Perfect last week and I thought it was really funny. I love Rebel Wilson and Anna Kendrick. We're also planning to head to the theatre soon to see Looper and Taken 2.

How is your weekend? It doesn't feel like a Saturday night for me. I have to work tomorrow so today feels like a Sunday. It's throwing me off. But I had a good, though short, weekend. Friday evening was spent doing errands and buying a new chair at Ikea with Adam. Then today, we went for a family reunion/picnic for Adam's side of the family. Luckily it was in Welland so we didn't have far to go. The rest of the day has been spent packing and stuffing pillows. I've been very productive.
Last week I finished up Season 1 of Supernatural. Oh my, the season finale left me hanging! I need to get Season 2 as soon as possible but I have a feeling I won't be able to start it until after we move. I really love the show. The chemistry between Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) is great and pretty funny. I'm excited to see how they grow as I watch the rest of the seasons.
Some episodes definitely play up my childish fears I have about the supernatural as well. I can end up freaking myself out watching the show while home alone.
I finished up Supernatural with just enough time for me to squeeze in Season 7 of Bones before we move. I know I'll be finished the season by next weekend and then I can watch the new season as it airs on television.
With Fan Expo coming up in 5 days, I'm definitely getting excited about looking around the huge convention. I love seeing all the booths setup and picking up all the freebies everyone is handing out. I have a list of some things I want to look for and buy at the show. Besides some Supernatural products, I'd love to find these new figures.
How cute are they?!?!
If you're going to Fan Expo and you spot any of these Hello Kitty figures, please come find me and tell me where they are! haha. I need them in my life.
I'll be posting some finished craft projects on here in a couple of days. I'm so incredibly happy with my stock for this year's Fan Expo. I have so many items that I'd love to keep for myself.
Well, I hope you're having a great weekend!

I recently started Season 7 of Bones. It's a shorter season and I'm already half way through it. I've been busy finishing up some final projects for Fan Expo so I've been watching TV shows like crazy.
Angela Montenegro (Michaela Conlin) has always been one of my favourite characters on the show. Her relationship with Jack Hodgins is adorable and her friendship with Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) is so sweet and sincere. If Angela were a real person, I'd so want to be her friend. And then possibly raid her closet.
The dresses, boots, belts, and jewellery she has always worn represents her personality perfectly - carefree and feminine. I love it. So far in season 7, I have wanted every single dress Angela has worn in each episode. They're floaty and so simple. I love that she wears tights and boots with most of her dresses as well. I feel like it makes a dress more casual and it suits her better. I think come Fall, I'll be finding myself coming up with outfit combinations like Angela's.
How is your week going? I'm off to iron more final products and watch Bones.
