Fandom Favourites: Pint Size Heroes

Funko has some serious skills to make everything adorable. So adorable, it hurts my wallet!

They released their Pint Size Heroes line last year but the collections they released initially didn't really grab me. Then they put out Batman ones and Adam added a few of the blind bags to my Christmas stocking. That was it, I was hooked!

Look how cute they are!

I ended up getting all the Gotham City Sirens and the figures are beyond adorable. They're tiny and well-detailed. They only stand at 1.5" tall!

Now they've released a line of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Pint Size figures and I'm swooning after getting the Green Ranger in my blind bag.

I want all the Rangers!

As long as Funko is in business and releasing new figures, I will forever be a child filling my home with tiny adorable toys.

Crafty Updates

I usually take a mini sewing break after conventions but I ended up taking a custom order at Toronto ComiCon and I'm hoping to do a couple of shows this Spring. So I pretty much went right back to sewing and working on projects.

I finished the custom order for a Batman hobo bag. The Batman fabric is made from a sheet and I think it turned out great. I love the placement of Batman on the bag.

I also updated my Etsy with pouches I had leftover from Toronto ComiCon. I still have tote bags to add to the shop but for now you can check out my new pouches.

First up on my sewing to-do list is kitty kickers! Which means I'll get to fight with cats over the weekend while they try to stick their head in my catnip container.

Christmas Recap

The past week has gone by so quickly. We drove down to Hamilton on Christmas Eve and came back last Friday. It was a fun and great time visiting family and friends. We squeezed in so many visits during the two and a half days that we were there.

Since we were waking up Christmas morning at my parents' house, it was really nice to have a Christmas tree to open gifts beside. Because of living in a small place and that we have a cat that climbs Christmas trees, we never put one up. There was definitely a warm and cozy atmosphere everywhere we went during our stay. A lot of fun memories were made!

On our drive home from Adam's Aunt's, we spotted the house that puts up a crazy amount of Christmas lights every year. We snapped a couple of pictures from the side of the road. I just have an urge to go run up their lawn and stand amongst all the lights!

The weather was definitely warmer in Southern Ontario and there wasn't quite as much snow around, but the trees were gorgeous and covered in ice because of the ice storm they got last week!

The majority of the drive home was beautiful. It had snowed a bit Christmas day and Boxing day so every thing was covered in snow.

I received some really awesome gifts this year. I'm in awe of how great my friends and family are and how much they spoiled me! I received quite a few figures and a couple of geeky pieces of jewelry.

Did you have a great Christmas? Are you looking forward to New Year's Eve?

Geeky Love

Over the last couple of years I have been doing my best to watch my money when it comes to clothing. I had a slight clothing addiction when I was a teenager and young adult. It took me a few years to realize I didn't need an overflowing closet of clothes. So I've been good with my spending habits and trying to only buy clothes that I really love and that are either a great deal or a great investment.

But this doesn't keep me from falling in love with clothes all over the internet....

Maybe after Toronto ComiCon next month I'll treat myself to something from my geeky wish list!

Addiction To Cuteness

It's no secret that I have an addiction, or maybe a slight obsession, with anything cute. I feel like a child sometimes but I honestly don't care. I love my shelf filled with cute figures and toys.

About a year ago, I was introduced to Pop! Vinyl figures. We were in the U.S. shopping and I found Batgirl at Hot Topic. I had to have her. From there I've purchased 3 more Pop! Vinyl figures. I have a list of which ones I want to get.

The Disney characters are beyond adorable, though, there's only a handful or so that I would like. I'm in love with The Simpsons figures. Homer needs to be added to my collection. But, I'm going to wait until after I see The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises to see which figures I want from those collections.

Anyways, we're off to a birthday party this afternoon. Time to go fill up on food!

Current Obsessions

So much of my time lately has been spent sewing because I have Wizard World coming up. And because of this, I have been watching a ton of TV.

I've been re-watching Batman The Animated Series while I sew. It's crazy how much I remember of this show from my childhood. The animation style and characters really are timeless. It looks like it could be a recent show and not 20 years old. I'm loving it and also feeling a little old now too.

I'm still watching Bones Season 4 and I started Season 8 of One Tree Hill as well. Both of these seasons are new to me so they've been distracting me while I attempt to iron or fold pillowcases. I'm also slowly watching Season 1 of My Little Pony-Friendship is Magic. I have to give this show all of my attention because it's the visual that I love the most about it. Whereas with Bones, I adore the dialogue and chemistry with the characters so I can look at what I'm ironing. But not with Friendship is Magic. It's so insanely cute.

Me and Adam recently started watching Archer. We were told be numerous people to give the show a chance. We just started the second season and it's hilarious. It took me a little while to get there but we're both enjoying it.

As for books, I finished Catching Fire over a couple of weeks ago. I haven't purchased Mockingjay yet so I started Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I'm enjoying the book and I can see why they want to turn it into a movie. The concept is pretty interesting and so far I find it entertaining.

I'm currently going through our gigantic X-Men comics collection. I'm finally reading comics from Fall/Winter of '89. I swear I will catch up one day. I just have to keep up on reading a comic or two every day. I absolutely love the conversations that I have with Adam while reading these comics.

Other than that, I haven't found any other new obsessions. I'm still listening to Florrie and for some reason when I saw that Motion City Soundtrack has a new CD coming out, I got pretty pumped for that.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Obsessions

What have you been reading, watching, and listening to lately? I feel like I need to take a year off just to catch up on books and movies and TV shows that interest me.

I'm itching to dive into The Hunger Games which I finally got for Christmas. But I started on my pile of comics before Christmas and I don't want to move on until I'm finished all of them. I have collected so many free comics from the comic conventions I've attended over the years and they keep piling up. I've always been caught up in books and other graphic novels to read any of the free ones. So far my favourite has been IZombie.

I'm almost finished the entire series of Gilmore Girls again... I have a handful of episodes left and I'm already wanting to restart it again. The show puts me in such a good mood. I'm thinking of moving onto Scrubs after though. I need a show I've seen numerous times before so I can craft and only pay half attention to it if need be.

Other than that I've been catching up on some movies with Adam that we've been putting off watching. We've also been busy playing Lego Batman. Batman seems to be consuming me lately... the video game, the new movie trailer, and my new pop vinyl toy I got for Christmas. How cute does he look with Batgirl?

My favourite superheroes <3

Music has been all over the place for me. I still don't change the song when She & Him's Christmas songs come on my iPod. I sing along to Demi Lovato every time her new single is on the radio and I dance my butt off to Martin Solveig and Dragonette's 'Big in Japan'.

At least I can't complain that I'm bored!
