iZombie Brain Cupcakes + Season 2 Premiere

Season 2 of iZombie starts tomorrow night (Oct. 6th) and I'm SO excited for it! I loved the first season and I'm very interested in seeing how the story continues and the characters evolve.

For tomorrow's big premiere I decided to make some cupcakes for us to snack on while watching the show - brain cupcakes! I cannot claim that I came up with the idea myself. I saw this on Pinterest and thought it was a great idea for iZombie and that it'd be somewhat easy to do.

I made a batch of chocolate cupcakes and then whipped up some light pink buttercream. Ignore the sprinkles in the picture, I made some non-brain cupcakes too.

Decorating Steps in Photos:

I think they turned out alright. Making the wavy brain was actually a touch more difficult than I expected. I kept squishing it. I cannot wait to eat these while watching the iZombie premiere.

Have you seen the promo for season 2 yet? It looks like Liv is a touch more put-together and comfortable in her zombie skin.

Will you be tuning in?

Treasury: Zombie Apocalypse

How was everyone's weekend? Mine was pretty good. I worked Friday evening and all day Saturday so it didn't feel like much of a weekend for me. Last night we went to a friend's for some drinks and we spent the evening and part of the night out in their backyard. Apparently watching two seasons of The Walking Dead in a short period of a time has put me on edge. Every noise (made by 2 raccoons) made me jump. Dark shadows, stairways, and closing my store creeps me out now because I have zombies on my brain.

I love all the handmade zombie items I found on Etsy, especially all the items with cute zombies!

Have a good night!

The Walking Dead

Today I watched the season finale of the second season of The Walking Dead. Oh my... I cannot wait for season 3 to start. I thoroughly enjoyed watching The Walking Dead. We flew through the 2 seasons and after every episode I was eager to start the next.

Season 2 had a lot of character development and some episodes were on the slower side but I really didn't mind. I loved watching the characters I liked grow and for some of the characters who annoyed me (Shane, Andrea, Lori) I just spent my time getting mad at them. I didn't go an episode without yelling at the TV because of something stupid Lori did.

Now I'm pretty interested in reading The Walking Dead comics. I'd like to see how they differ from the show.

I love this picture... Daryl became my favourite quickly during the second season.

Have you watched The Walking Dead?

Current Obsessions

So much of my time lately has been spent sewing because I have Wizard World coming up. And because of this, I have been watching a ton of TV.

I've been re-watching Batman The Animated Series while I sew. It's crazy how much I remember of this show from my childhood. The animation style and characters really are timeless. It looks like it could be a recent show and not 20 years old. I'm loving it and also feeling a little old now too.

I'm still watching Bones Season 4 and I started Season 8 of One Tree Hill as well. Both of these seasons are new to me so they've been distracting me while I attempt to iron or fold pillowcases. I'm also slowly watching Season 1 of My Little Pony-Friendship is Magic. I have to give this show all of my attention because it's the visual that I love the most about it. Whereas with Bones, I adore the dialogue and chemistry with the characters so I can look at what I'm ironing. But not with Friendship is Magic. It's so insanely cute.

Me and Adam recently started watching Archer. We were told be numerous people to give the show a chance. We just started the second season and it's hilarious. It took me a little while to get there but we're both enjoying it.

As for books, I finished Catching Fire over a couple of weeks ago. I haven't purchased Mockingjay yet so I started Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I'm enjoying the book and I can see why they want to turn it into a movie. The concept is pretty interesting and so far I find it entertaining.

I'm currently going through our gigantic X-Men comics collection. I'm finally reading comics from Fall/Winter of '89. I swear I will catch up one day. I just have to keep up on reading a comic or two every day. I absolutely love the conversations that I have with Adam while reading these comics.

Other than that, I haven't found any other new obsessions. I'm still listening to Florrie and for some reason when I saw that Motion City Soundtrack has a new CD coming out, I got pretty pumped for that.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
