Cakeworthy Halloween Line

Flannel shirts are a staple for fall, right? Especially oversized and super soft ones! I purchased one from Cakeworthy back in the spring and it is THE BEST. And now they've released an incredible line up of Halloween-inspired clothing, including flannels.

Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, The Haunted Mansion, and SO MUCH more!

Look at this Haunted Mansion Glow dress!

The entire collection is huge so I'm only sharing a handful of my favourites. Definitely check out Cakeworthy's entire Halloween line

Old Navy Halloween Shirts

Yes, I know it's still August, but I'm already in the fall and Halloween mood. The weather has cooled a bit, Pumpkin Spice Lattes arrive this week at Starbucks, and Homesense is full of fall decor. I can feel my body relaxing as I slowly turn into my cozy basic self.

Costumes are slowly arriving in stores and Halloween t-shirts and pajamas are popping up too. There are some really cute shirts available for the whole family - from subtle prints to large graphics.

Disney World with Young Kids

At the end of February, we travelled to Orlando with our 2 kids and another couple with their kids. We stayed at the Art of Animation resort in Disney for 2 nights. Then we boarded the Disney Wish cruise ship and went on a 4 night cruise.

It was absolutely incredible. I read about the "Disney Blues" (when you're depressed after being at Disney) and I believe it because I'm pretty sure I'm going through it. There were a few hiccups during our vacation but, honestly, it went so smooth. I'm no expert but I wanted to share my experience and some things we found worked or helped us have a great 8 day vacation with a 2 and 4 year old.

Give me all the Scrunchies!

I gave up sewing shortly after Emma turned 1. I was burnt out, prepping for another embryo transfer, and overwhelmed. It was bittersweet because I had been creating for YEARS but I was just so tired.

A friend had suggested that it was just a different season for me - a season of babies and a lot of firsts that babies come with. And that I might return to sewing again one day.

Well 2022 had me itching to sew again... 2 years after my second baby was born. For the last couple of years I have been searching for something for 'me'. Something to bring back my spark, make me feel normal or human again, something to excite me. A few hobbies helped guide me through this time but looking at fabric, watching sewing tutorials, and feeling jealous as I saw others selling at craft shows led me to the realization that I wanted to sew again.

Cute Disney Shirts

We are going to Disney! In February 2023 we are heading to Magic Kingdom for 1 day while staying at a Disney resort, and then heading on a Disney cruise!

I am SO excited, like more than the kids. But they don't know exactly what's waiting for them so that's not surprising. Emma, my 4 year old, can't wait to meet Princesses. She'll be in awe and super excited the entire trip.

Life has been a whirlwind lately. The weather has been a tease and only giving us snippets of nice weather and then giving us a ton of rain. So my evenings have been spent inside more often than I'd like. But it's hard to go for after dinner walks when it's cold enough for a winter jacket or it's pouring rain.

1. Adam and I have been playing more video games lately since our evenings have been damp and chilly here. Hiding under blankets with cats snuggled up is the perfect way to spend time together. Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is a game Adam downloaded on the Playstation Network.

It's a co-op adventure game and highly addictive. You work together to steer and protect your ship, while also saving bunny friends, fighting off enemies, and making your way through space. It's so much fun and I want to play it every night.

2. Hot Topic released a Retro Disney collection with the most adorable dresses. My favourite one is The Little Mermaid, which is no surprise. The colour is perfect.

3. I know the third season of iZombie JUST started. But, oh man, I'm so loving it. Seriously, catch up or start this show if you haven't watched it already!

Fandom Favourites: Toy Fair Edition

The London Toy Fair happened about a month ago and New York Toy Fair was this past weekend. That means Funko, along with other toy companies, announced new toys (either finished products, prototypes, or photos) for the upcoming year. I love seeing what's been revealed and find myself getting lost on Instagram while I look at photos from the events.

1. First up, we'll go over the Funko toys that I'm most excited for:

Parks and Recreation Pop! Figures - I'm most excited to get a Leslie Knope figure for my shelf. She's such an amazing character and I love everything she embodies.

DC Bombshells Pop! Figures - I absolutely adore the Bombshells comics and the recreation of the iconic characters. I'm really hoping they release a Batwoman figure in Series 2 since she's my favourite from the comics.

Wonder Woman Pop! Figures - I haven't seen the movie but I feel like I'm going to want everything Wonder Woman after it comes out.

Disney Pint Size Heroes - I've held off on collecting all the Disney Pop! figures, Dorbz, and other Mystery Mini blind boxes. But these figures are so unbelievably cute. I will have to practice self control to keep myself from buying all of of them!

2. I love that Gund has the rights to the Pusheen line. In the past, I've come across Pusheen products at conventions and they've always been ridiculously priced. Once Gund got their hands on Pusheen, the products have been easier to find and much more reasonably priced. I've purchased a couple of the plush blind boxes from previous series but they released the Series 4 blind boxes for 2017 and I'm so excited to buy them! I so want a Pusheen Candy Corn plushie!

3. Nendoroid figures are something I've admired from afar for years now. They're so unbelievably cute and detailed. However, they're very expensive. At the NY Toy Fair they had a poster up for some upcoming Disney/Pixar figures coming out. I have a feeling I'm going to be squeeing when I see them in person at a convention.

4. I was introduced to Kotobukiya figures years ago. Talk about detailed and gorgeous figures! I've spent a lot of time looking at the Bishoujo figures whenever we go to comic book stores. They announced the Squirrel Girl figure a little while ago but revealed the Ms Marvel figure at NY Toy Fair. Oh, how I wish I could afford all their figures!

Seeing all the new figures has been super excited for my upcoming comic conventions this year. I can't wait to look at all the booths and vendors.

Fandom Favourites

Hello! This past weekend was Toronto ComiCon and what do comic conventions usually do? Make me want to buy all the things! I was pretty good in controlling myself with purchases but I have a giant wish list for future conventions and for my birthday this Summer.

1. There were so many girls (of all ages) dressed as Rey at the convention and it has me wanting to try her hairstyle and wear this dress from We Love Fine.

2. The Powerpuff Girls are back April 4th! I love the original series and I know this new series will feel different, especially with new voice actors. But I can't wait to see the girls in action again.

3. I recently had a favourite episodes of Gilmore Girls marathon with a friend and all it did was re-ignite my Gilmore Girls love. I desperately need this tank from Look Human even though it's probably not true.

4. So when browsing Kate Spade's website recently I noticed their Minnie Mouse collection. Can we all agree this Minnie Mouse bow clasp is too precious?!

5. Everywhere I look right now I find these Funko Disney Mystery Minis Blind Boxes. They are SO cute. So far I've held off buying any, but every time I see them my self control weakens.

Travel Itch

I've been itching to travel lately. I've always had a list of places I really want to visit in my lifetime. But ever since we moved and settled into our new place, I've been wanting to go on vacation. Maybe because me and Adam haven't really done any travelling together, except for our honeymoon, or maybe it's from chatting to the IGGPPC staff members and I want to see and visit the places they talk about?

Either way, I've been spending more time than I really should searching online for flights and hotel prices. I think we're going to make a point of going somewhere in 2014. Nothing that will cost a lot of money since we're saving for a house. But somewhere.

Some of the places I want to visit that top my list:
- NYC
- Florida/Disney World/Universal Studios
- California/SDCC/Disneyland
- England
- Japan
- Alaska
- Newfoundland

There are honestly so many places I want to go!

Addiction To Cuteness

It's no secret that I have an addiction, or maybe a slight obsession, with anything cute. I feel like a child sometimes but I honestly don't care. I love my shelf filled with cute figures and toys.

About a year ago, I was introduced to Pop! Vinyl figures. We were in the U.S. shopping and I found Batgirl at Hot Topic. I had to have her. From there I've purchased 3 more Pop! Vinyl figures. I have a list of which ones I want to get.

My #PopVinyl collection! #batman #wolverine #ariel
My Collection - There needs to be more X-Men Pop! Vinyl figures!

The Disney characters are beyond adorable, though, there's only a handful or so that I would like. I'm in love with The Simpsons figures. Homer needs to be added to my collection. But, I'm going to wait until after I see The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises to see which figures I want from those collections.

Anyways, we're off to a birthday party this afternoon. Time to go fill up on food!
