My goal in November was to get my Etsy shop updated 100% and I'm almost there! We lose sunlight so early in the day now that it's hard to photograph products but I'm finding some tricks and places in the house that work.
Here's just a snippet of what I've added to my Etsy shop:
Since it's now December there's not much more time to place orders to have them arrive in time for Christmas. If you need a special order or faster shipping, send me an email!

5 Fandom Friday: Fandom Guilty Pleasures
Friday, 8 April 2016
Today's topic makes me laugh a little because so many of the fandoms I'm into could be looked at as a guilty pleasure (cheesy, over dramatic, made for children) but I've learnt to embrace these interests. I'm finally at the age where I don't really care what other people think. But I know some of the things I'm into make people shake their heads...
So here are my top Fandom Guilty Pleasures:
1. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
I'm super into a show that my 5 year old niece also loves. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but co-workers do look at me funny when I buy MLP blind bags...
2. Pretty Little Liars
I'm that person chatting with a friend about our PLL theories and our feelings about certain couples and discoveries made on the show. But the show is super over the top and very unbelievable. But I LOVE it.
3. Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
No one would question someone's love for TMNT. It's a classic that 80s kids grew up with. But the new show on Nickelodeon? Not everyone watches it. They assume it's stupid because it's not the classic and it's made for kids. Wrong! It's hilarious. I try to convince people of this regularly but it doesn't work most of the time.
4. Young Adult books
The YA genre has become super popular and I know a ton of adults who read them. But I've also encountered quite a few people who will snub off my book recommendations or book chatter when they realize I'm talking about a YA title. Not cool!
5. Geeky T-shirts
My t-shirt collection is mainly shirts with geek designs on them. I either get complimented on them or people look at the shirt funny - whether trying to figure out what's on it or why I'm wearing a shirt like that. When asked to wear a certain colour of shirt for work to celebrate something I have to explain that I don't have plain shirts... only shirts with designs and characters on them. They don't always understand.
I'm not ashamed of these fandom loves but I know not everyone gets them. What would your fandom guilty pleasure be?

5 Fandom Friday: Favourite Fictional Foods
Friday, 11 March 2016
If you follow any geek bloggers on social media you might have noticed '5 Fandom Friday' posts. It started about a year and a half ago by the incredibly talented Megan and Kristin. It's a weekly link up with prompts planned out ahead of time. You can check them out here.
Since I'm late to the party I might go back and do some past ones when I have some time or when my brain is on the fritz and I need help brainstorming blog ideas.
Today is Favorite Fictional Foods!
1. Butterbeer
The Harry Potter universe definitely delivered some amazing sounding food and treats that I wish were real. But mainly, Butterbeer! Yes, there are recipes everywhere for it. But I want the actual butterbeer from the books.
2. Senzu beans
In the world of Dragon Ball, Senzu beans have rejuvenating powers. They fulfill your health and restore your energy. This would be an amazing bean to have in our world!
3. Beer Batter Cupcakes with Maple Bacon Frosting
Yes, these are the cupcakes from 2 Broke Girls when Max and Caroline go on 'Spring Break'. I know I could find a recipe online for this type of cupcake, but I'd like to reach through my TV screen and just take one that Max bakes.
4. Marshmallow Mermaid Pie
Another food I could try to replicate in my kitchen, but I'd rather just take the entire pie that Keri Russell's character in Waitress makes.
5. Applejack's Cider
The cider from the Sweet Apple Acres must be pretty amazing considering how many ponies line up for it. I can't watch this episode without craving it.
What are your favourite fictional foods?

What I'm Loving Now
Saturday, 23 May 2015
This week I received a couple of emails from websites I frequent often - Indigo and We Love Fine. Both of these emails made be squee out loud.
Great Canadian Summer
The first email was from Indigo and it was sharing their Great Canadian Summer collection. Oh man, I want it all! It's filled with canoes, paddles, deer, lakes, fishing... everything that makes Summer so much fun! It's all about the outdoors. I've completely fallen for the glasses they've released.
You can see the entire collection here.
My Little Pony Chibis
The next email from We Love Fine made my day! These My Little Pony Chibis are too cute! I need them.
They're so adorable!
I hope you're having a fantastic weekend!

My Little Pony Adventures
Wednesday, 22 April 2015
This month over at IGGPPC, the theme is Animation Celebration. So I decided to make my Pinkie Pie and host a watch-along for the season 5 premiere of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The pie turned out delicious and the premiere was excellent!
I followed the same recipe I used a couple of summers ago for the Pinkie Pie, which can be found here.
As a fan of pink lemonade, this pie is tasty. Both times I put the pie in the freezer to thicken up and it turns out delicious!
If the season 5 premiere was any indication of what's to come this season for My Little Pony, I'm very excited. The premiere consisted of two episodes and it had a delightfully creepy vibe. It reminded me of Doctor Who which I really enjoyed.

Pinkie Pie
Wednesday, 4 September 2013
A while back I was trying to rack my brain for fandom recipes and I knew I had to come up with a pie to be named after my favourite pony - Pinkie Pie! When I was browsing Pinterest and came across a pink lemonade pie, I knew that was going to be my 'Pinkie Pie'. Because honestly, pink lemonade tastes like there's a party in my mouth! I followed closely to this recipe I found here. I made my crust slightly different and mine definitely came out more pink but either way, it's a great recipe!
Pinkie Pie
Crust:
1 1/4 cups of honey graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup of melted butter or margarine
Filling:
6 oz. can of pink lemonade concentrate, thawed
14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk
8 oz. container of Cool Whip, plus more for topping
Red food colouring (optional)
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix graham cracker crumbs and melted butter in a 9" pie plate. Press the mixture firmly to the bottom and up the sides of the pie plate. Bake crust for 7 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven and cool completely.
Whisk together pink lemonade and sweetened condensed milk in a bowl until combined.
Gently fold in Cool Whip. I added a couple of drops of red food colouring to make the mixture more pink, but it stayed a very pale colour and I didn't want to overload the filling with dye so I just left it.
Spread filling evenly in cooled crust and freeze until solid. When serving, top each piece with more Cool Whip.
Pink Lemonade and sweetened condensed milk:
This is the colour of it once mixed:
Fold in Cool Whip:
Once mixed, it took away a lot of the pink colour:
Let's pretend this picture is in focus! Guests were showing up so I had to take a quick picture after it was frozen so I could serve it soon after!
This pie is delicious! I'm a huge fan of pink lemonade and this is so perfect and tart! I plan on making variations of this pie with frozen lemonade and limeade! I highly recommend giving this recipe a try!

What I'm Loving Now
Saturday, 8 June 2013
While scanning Facebook this week I came across the new My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Pop! Vinyl figures. I did a little happy dance in my desk chair but I had no one around to share my news with so here I am posting them because look at how cute they are!!
This week I also got completely sucked into cuteness while browsing the net. I favourited or pinned about half of the photos in Jerrod Maruyama's flickr stream. Seriously, cuteness overload!
Now that we're moved in and more than half unpacked, I'm excited to go on some movie dates over the summer because there are so many good movies coming out. I actually did a post over at IGGPPC about all the summer movies that are coming out this year. I think me and Adam are the most excited for The Wolverine.
After straightening my hair last weekend and having it go frizzy because of the humidity, this is my plan for the rest of the summer:
What are you loving right now?

Etsy Crush
Wednesday, 8 May 2013
Last month I came across this awesome Etsy shop, Pixel Closet. The shop is filled with the cutest fused beads accessories! I'm in love with all the keychains in the shop! The LSP one is definitely my favourite. And I don't know about other cat owners, but my one kitty enjoys eating plants so we don't have any in our apartment. This only makes me want the Piranha Flower or Fire Flower even more!
Go fall in love with all their accessories and check out Pixel Closet's facebook page too for new pixel creations that aren't up in the Etsy shop yet!

Current Obsessions
Saturday, 26 January 2013
What current obsessions post doesn't include something about Supernatural?!? I've clearly been obsessed with this show for the last 6 months. I'm half way through Season 5 and it's so ridiculously good right now! And I have a new favourite character in Castiel.
I had to post this picture... it's very accurate!
Me and Adam are finishing up Season 2 of Pushing Daisies... we only have 2 episodes left! I absolutely adore this show and I hate that it ends after Season 2. And not only have we been watching this show regularly, but it makes me crave pie all the time!
I'm going to be taking a small break from Supernatural after Season 5 to watch the first season of Portlandia. I keep being told to watch it so I'm excited to start it and I love Fred Armisen!
Since visiting Big Al's last weekend and seeing these adorable Golf Ball Goldfish, I have become obsessed with them! If you have seen me in person over the last week, there's a likely chance I goggled images of these fish and showed them to you. Adam offered to let me use one of his many aquariums for a couple of them so we'll see.
I'm still reading my X-Men comics. I'm currently reading issues from 1993. I also read the first issue of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I love, love, love Andy Price and Katie Cook working on this series together. Price's artwork is so perfect and I love Katie's writing and humour! I'm so excited to read the second issue which I just got.
I feel like I need a whole year off to watch and read everything!

Style Inspiration
Friday, 7 September 2012
I've been watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I only have 3 episodes left of Season 2. This show is adorable and colourful and fun. I've never been ashamed to watch TV shows or movies that were meant for a way younger age group than mine. I love shows and movies that just entertain me and make me feel happy. The animation in My Little Pony and voice actors definitely add to the appeal of the show as well. Everything is just so good about this show. I've yet to meet a female who watches it and doesn't think the show is pretty darn adorable.
Of course, everything in this show is fun colours and full of cutie marks! I'm finding myself drawn to pretty, candy-colours lately... cotton candy pink nail polish, pale yellow shirts, purple sweaters and light green dresses. It's not surprising to find other ladies with My Little Pony fashion inspiration online.
Molly McIsaac of The Geeky Peacock did a whole post filled with My Little Pony inspired outfits.
Applejack's outfit was by far my favourite.
I recently came across this amazing Disney Inspired Fashion Tumblr through some awesome ladies and I saw there were quite a few outfits inspired by each of the individual ponies.
This year at Fan Expo Canada, I was happily surprised to see so many My Little Pony cosplayers. There really are a lot of unique ways you could go with these costumes.
My favourite My Little Pony inspired fashion item? Hair! I love, love, love the pastel-coloured hair that's all over Pinterest.
I absolutely love this show and I can see myself re-watching it while I craft. I find the visuals are very inspiring.
Have a great weekend!
