Fandom Favourites: Toy Fair Edition

The London Toy Fair happened about a month ago and New York Toy Fair was this past weekend. That means Funko, along with other toy companies, announced new toys (either finished products, prototypes, or photos) for the upcoming year. I love seeing what's been revealed and find myself getting lost on Instagram while I look at photos from the events.

1. First up, we'll go over the Funko toys that I'm most excited for:

Parks and Recreation Pop! Figures - I'm most excited to get a Leslie Knope figure for my shelf. She's such an amazing character and I love everything she embodies.

DC Bombshells Pop! Figures - I absolutely adore the Bombshells comics and the recreation of the iconic characters. I'm really hoping they release a Batwoman figure in Series 2 since she's my favourite from the comics.

Wonder Woman Pop! Figures - I haven't seen the movie but I feel like I'm going to want everything Wonder Woman after it comes out.

Disney Pint Size Heroes - I've held off on collecting all the Disney Pop! figures, Dorbz, and other Mystery Mini blind boxes. But these figures are so unbelievably cute. I will have to practice self control to keep myself from buying all of of them!

2. I love that Gund has the rights to the Pusheen line. In the past, I've come across Pusheen products at conventions and they've always been ridiculously priced. Once Gund got their hands on Pusheen, the products have been easier to find and much more reasonably priced. I've purchased a couple of the plush blind boxes from previous series but they released the Series 4 blind boxes for 2017 and I'm so excited to buy them! I so want a Pusheen Candy Corn plushie!

3. Nendoroid figures are something I've admired from afar for years now. They're so unbelievably cute and detailed. However, they're very expensive. At the NY Toy Fair they had a poster up for some upcoming Disney/Pixar figures coming out. I have a feeling I'm going to be squeeing when I see them in person at a convention.

4. I was introduced to Kotobukiya figures years ago. Talk about detailed and gorgeous figures! I've spent a lot of time looking at the Bishoujo figures whenever we go to comic book stores. They announced the Squirrel Girl figure a little while ago but revealed the Ms Marvel figure at NY Toy Fair. Oh, how I wish I could afford all their figures!

Seeing all the new figures has been super excited for my upcoming comic conventions this year. I can't wait to look at all the booths and vendors.

Fandom Favourites: Toy Fair Edition

Last weekend was Toy Fair in New York City. Every year I scroll through the photos with the toy fair hashtags. It's a lot of fun to see what's going to be coming out over the next year. This year was no different and there were a few toys and product lines introduced that will definitely be on my wish list this year.

1. Funko released their newest toy line: Rock Candy. One of the first lines to come out will be the DC comics ladies and I'm absolutely dying over the 'Modern Batgirl' vinyl figure.

2. I came across an image of new Pusheen products and spotted blind boxes! Gund has teamed up with Pusheen to create Pusheen Surprise Plush blind boxes. They're all so cute! And I can see myself buying multiples of these blind boxes over the span of a comic convention weekend.

3. With the Powerpuff Girls reboot coming this Spring, there were some pictures posted of the new figures and playsets that will be showing up in stores. It was also just announced that Funko will be one of the official Toy partners for Powerpuff Girls so we should expect to see Pop! Vinyls, Mystery Mini boxes, and Dorbz figures. I'm going to need an entire shelf just for PPG toys!

4. I've become a big fan of the DC Comics Bombshells line. The comics are super entertaining and incredibly beautiful to look at. Cryptozoic Entertainment showed their new DC Bombshells figures at Toy Fair and they're gorgeous!

5. One of the most exciting things I spotted at Toy Fair was the new Sailor Moon Pop! figures from Funko. Seriously?! I want them all! Look at how adorable Luna is!

If this year's Toy Fair has shown me anything, it's that I have a serious addiction to cute and pretty things. I'm a little afraid to see what I buy at all the comic conventions I'm attending this year.

What I'm Loving Now

Well we had our first 'snow storm' yesterday. I put it in quotations because we didn't get much accumulation but the roads were hell! There were so many car accidents and it just snowed for like 8 hours straight. Today, the sun is out but the winds are strong and we're sitting at -22 degrees Celsius. To say it's cold in my place is an understatement. You can feel a draft coming from every window. I'm wearing layers and the cats are snuggled in blankets, together, on the couch.

Anyways, onto my current obsessions...

Pusheen

With the weather turning freezing and snowy this week, Pusheen's newest cartoon is one of my favourite things right now!

Insurgent

I finished the second book in the Divergent trilogy earlier this week. I listened to the audio book version of Insurgent and I can't express how perfect Emma Galvin's voice is as 'Tris'. But the book... oh man. I was hooked pretty quickly when I started the second book. The story picks up right where Divergent ends and the action just starts quickly. And how Insurgent ends... damn. I cannot wait to start on Allegiant! And my excitement to see Divergent in theatres next Spring keeps getting stronger as I grow more and more attached to the characters.

Short Bangs
Surprised? I'm guessing not. My side bangs from late summer have grown into awkward layers. My hair colour has faded to a gross orange. I'm so not loving my hair. But I want to grow it out. I'm itching to try really short bangs though... something to frame my face when I put my hair in a pony. But I can't decide if they'd be more or less work than side bangs. Ugh!

I hope your weekend has been lovely so far! I've spent mine Christmas shopping, watching Christmas movies, and organizing the Holiday Card Swap over at IGGPPC. Oh and I'm listening to Christmas music right now. Can you tell I love this season?

Autumn Baking

Autumn is in full swing here... at least in our place. I have apple and pumpkin scented candles burning (not at the same time though) and pumpkin scented air room fresheners. Cardigans, knee high socks, and flannel pajama pants have become a staple most days and nights.

I have a package at the post office that's waiting for me and I'm pretty sure it contains some Autumn-themed goodies for me to bake with!

I'm also drooling and loving these other Autumn recipes I've found online. I'm hoping to try most of them over the next couple of months.

Candy Corn Bark

Cinnamon and Spice Sweet Potato Bread

Pumpkin Hot Chocolate

Pumpkin Poke Cake

And well, Pusheen has the right idea...

What's your favourite recipe to bake during Fall?

Current Obsessions

Thanks to a friend, I cannot stop watching Suburgatory. I'm almost done Season two and I've had possession of it for less than a week. I'm excited that it was renewed for a third season and I'll be all caught up to watch it when it starts!

I also decided to rewatch Veronica Mars. I only have a few episodes left of Season one. This is the type of show that I can watch over and over again because of the characters. I love seeing how Logan and Veronica are with one another at the beginning of the show and seeing how their chemistry grows and changes.

I also really liked seeing Leo in the show again. He is so sweet with Veronica <3 It's funny that now he's Schmidt on New Girl since the character is quite different than Deputy Leo.

Other than that, I've been slowly watching Doctor Who. I'm loving it but I'm also trying to savour it until I can really dive in once we move. I also really need to get my hands on the next season of Supernatural I need to watch. I've been itching for a Winchester fix hehe...

Because of my facebook app on my iPod Touch, I've become addicted to the stickers that are available in the chat... I have completely fallen in love with Pusheen....

I've posted other Pusheen cartoons on my blog before but I didn't realize the extent of all the different ones online. I'm in love with that cat!

Anyways, I have a busy day ahead of me filled with MORE packing. We move exactly one week today. To be honest, it makes me a little sick to my stomach...
