What I'm Loving Now

Companies really know how to market to their customers. I've been receiving emails from Look Human, Davids Tea, Bath and Body Works, and Old Navy (to name a few) with Spring-themes! From light and fruity teas, to shorts, to floral candles, and camping t-shirts - I'm wanting everything!

Look Human

The latest email from Look Human was their road trip/camping collection. And as usual, I kind of want one of everything.

Davids Tea

This past week I went to the mall and stopped into Davids Tea to smell and check out their Spring Collection. The teas I thought I'd want from the collection initially weren't the ones I came home with. It's funny how smelling the teas in person can make a huge difference, rather than basing your picks off the name and description. I cannot stress enough how amazing White Nectarine is. The smell and taste is exactly like a ripe nectarine. The other teas I fell in love with were Melon Drop and Fruits of Paradise. Maybe it's because I'm wanting Spring so bad, but all the fruity teas were winning me over.

Weekend Adventures

Last weekend we were in Hamilton for multiple reasons and we squished in as much as possible during the two and a half days we were there. It was a good weekend with family.

Yogurty's date <3

I spent a small fortune at a fabric store there.

While going through some things in my parents' basement, Adam found some pictures of me.

Cupcakes I decorated for my Dad's birthday party. I forgot just how much I love decorating cupcakes.

The blue frosting was vanilla and the yellow was lemon.

Our first bonfire of the year!

Last weekend has me excited for other Summer plans we have this year with family and friends. I hope you had a good weekend!

Weekend Adventures

We headed back to Hamilton this past weekend to celebrate my Mom's 50th birthday. Of course we squeezed in as much as we could during our time there. Our first stop was visiting Kool Stuff. We always find some great things there. We don't necessarily buy a lot, but I always enjoy going through all the vintage toys.

The creepiest Sailor Moon dolls I have ever seen...

I squeezed in TWO frozen yogurt dates over the weekend with two different friends. It was so worth it. I had different flavours both times but as usual popping bobas made it into my container during both visits.

The entire weekend was just gorgeous. It got so hot both Saturday and Sunday. All the plants were in full bloom at my parents'. Their chokecherry tree was just absolutely beautiful.

Before we headed home on Sunday we hit up Big B Comics. We spent way more money than we planned but oh well. We stocked up on comics big time. I was so tempted to pick up this Pop! Vinyl figure too. I figure I'll purchase him at Fan Expo Canada this summer.

And it's becoming tradition for us to hit up a Tim Horton's somewhere along the drive home for donuts. But these were so needed... my car ended up making rumbling noises near the end of our drive. So we both ended up stressed out. Thank goodness for donuts!

It was another fantastic weekend and we had lots of fun! But we're both exhausted now.
How was your weekend?

Weekly Adventures

The past week has been pretty busy for us. After celebrating Valentine's Day last Friday, I spent Saturday at work, doing some errands, promoting IGGPPC, and packing for a quick Hamilton visit.

Round 11 of the International Geek Girl Pen Pals Club opened on Saturday. Registration is still open and you can sign up here. There's a giveaway happening on our Facebook page right now as well.

Then really early Sunday morning we headed off for Hamilton. It was a nice drive. The sun was out and being a Sunday, the traffic was light. We spent the afternoon at our niece's third birthday party, then I had a dinner of frozen yogurt with two of my best friends for one of their birthdays. Afterwards we drank Italian Soda and played Big Bang Theory Clue.

We finished off our day with a few games of bowling with some family members. It was a long day but bowling was super fun. I started off strong and got worse as the games continued. I guess my tiredness was catching up with me.

Monday morning we headed home after breakfast with my Mom and a quick visit at my sister-in-law's. Again, it was a gorgeous day. The sun was out, traffic was light, and we stopped for a treat at Tim Horton's. We picked up coffee and doughnuts and admired all the snowmobiles hanging out in the parking lot and the brand new ones that one of the stores was selling.

These pictures are blurry since we were driving on the highway, but the ice on the rocks was just crazy to see.

Since getting home I've been taking care of some chores and working on more comic convention prep. I'll be spending my evening working on pillowcases.

How has your week been?

Travel Itch

I've been itching to travel lately. I've always had a list of places I really want to visit in my lifetime. But ever since we moved and settled into our new place, I've been wanting to go on vacation. Maybe because me and Adam haven't really done any travelling together, except for our honeymoon, or maybe it's from chatting to the IGGPPC staff members and I want to see and visit the places they talk about?

Either way, I've been spending more time than I really should searching online for flights and hotel prices. I think we're going to make a point of going somewhere in 2014. Nothing that will cost a lot of money since we're saving for a house. But somewhere.

Some of the places I want to visit that top my list:
- NYC
- Florida/Disney World/Universal Studios
- California/SDCC/Disneyland
- England
- Japan
- Alaska
- Newfoundland

There are honestly so many places I want to go!

Road Trip

Last weekend me and Adam headed up to Sudbury for a night. Adam had some physical testing to do for a job application. It was a fun couple of days away, though it was absolutely freezing.

Seymore tried packing himself up the morning we left.Someone has packed himself to come on the road trip with us today. #gingerkitty

Our usual car snacks!

As we drove further up North there was more and more snow along the highway. I also spotted about 6 deer along the highway hanging out behind someone's house. Sudbury Roadtrip

Once we got to Sudbury we went out for dinner, took a stroll around Chapters, and watched a Chopped marathon on the Food Network. The next morning we woke up to -30 degree weather. My hands were numb after a small time outside and for some reason the ends of my hair went white? I spent the morning in an empty college cafeteria. It was a good time to catch up on emails and get some things organized.

My office today. #college #blog

Afterwards we had a quick lunch and cupcake break before heading home. I picked out a maple bacon cupcake. It was so amazingly good! The small cupcake kiosk in the local mall was a pleasant surprise.

It was a fun weekend and there's a chance we'll be doing this road trip again this winter.
