Runs on Coffee and Cream

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Look Human designs. Their love of cats, wine, cuddles, and coffee have won my heart over. 

I've been reading blogs for a very, very long time. During college I started to read certain blogs regularly, so it's been about 10 years now! One of my favourite blogs that I've come across during my blog-reading years is Katie's, Hook, Line & Sink Her. I find Katie's posts incredibly entertaining, endearing, inspiring, and just plain awesome.

We did a sweets swap over a year ago which was incredibly fun. You can see all the treats here. Well we decided to do another swap back in the Winter. Surprisingly enough, we both received each other's parcels within a week of each other. You can see what I sent Katie this time in her post.

Receiving amazing parcels like this just brighten my month. I'm already keeping a look out for other fun treats and gifts for future swaps! Thanks Katie <3

During the week leading up to Halloween we made a point of buying some Halloween candies, watched some horror movies, and carved a pumpkin. I made up a quick batch of lemon cookies with black sugar sprinkles that week as well. Halloween day and night was really gloomy here. It rained all day and the fog was thick. On the weekend we did attend a Halloween party which was last minute because of changes in our work schedules. We came up with some quick and easy costumes. Overall, I'd say our first Halloween in Sudbury was a success!

I have been receiving the best things in the mail lately! Every time I receive a post office slip for me to go pick up a package I pretty much skip across the street (yes, my post office is that close) to get my surprise.

I received an amazing package from Darling Stewie with the cutest TMNT stationary and some sweet stickers... I cannot get over how cute her designs are. 


And then completely out of the blue I received an Easter package filled with candy and chocolate from Kristy! I was in shock and also drooling while I opened it up. She seriously spoiled me! I would have felt extremely guilty opening this since I hadn't sent her a package recently... but I have a bunch of stuff purchased and set aside for her. I just don't feel it's finished though.


And then Arielle (@ToastyTreat) sent me this awesome perler bead Lumpy Space Princess and a letter that written as if LSP wrote it... I laughed out loud while reading the entire letter. This was such a lovely package!


I've been searching stores for some cute package add-ons and I came across the sticker jackpot at my nearby dollar shop.


I'm so excited to finish putting together some of my packages to get them sent out. It's made mail so exciting!!

Happy Easter! 



This year, Easter holds a slightly different meaning for me. But one of the things that has stayed constant throughout my life, is the amount of candy and chocolate I acquire during the holiday! I get a discount on Easter chocolate at my work. It's absolutely horrible for my sweet tooth... but they put all on the Easter chocolate on clearance yesturday so I of course had to buy some and at least I'll be sharing it with Adam. I didn't buy all the treats in the picture below. A few items (including the giant bag of Mini Eggs) were given to us from family. And there's some items pictured that I plan on putting with my packages that I'm mailing out soon.



We had our Easter dinners with both families already this weekend so I'm happy to have all day off to myself. I plan on snacking on some chocolate and watching Supernatural and Doctor Who.

What a busy weekend.... I had all day off yesturday. I spent the majority of my day sewing and cutting out pillowcases. I was supposed to have today off as well but unfortunately I had to go into work this morning to cover a shift. It sucks only having the one day off this weekend, especially since it means I have a 6-day work week. Yuck. I'm just counting down the days until I have a day off again.

My brain won't shut off lately. Between work and prepping for Fan Expo, things are insane. So to put my world right now into pictures, this would be it:

How is your week going? Thankfully, my week is going by pretty quickly. This Friday is my birthday and I am looking forward to it. Being the manager at work, I was able to schedule myself off Friday and the rest of the weekend. I plan on celebrating my birthday for 3 days. Not really. But I'm looking forward to having a long weekend to relax, catch up on some TV shows, and go swimming. Plus I have 2 birthday dinners over the weekend and of course, I will get some gifts. I just need to get through tomorrow.






I don't know if it's because I actually have my birthday off this year, which hasn't happened in at least a few years, but I feel extra excited for my birthday. Or maybe it's because I spent last night with 2 great friends and received some early birthday gifts which were so awesome! It was a pre-birthday celebration which has me excited for the weekend!

Happy Good Friday! Did you have any plans for today or for this weekend? Surprisingly, I have no plans. My side of the family had our Easter dinner earlier this week, and with Adam working all weekend, we are not going to the dinner on his side of the family. I work a small shift tomorrow but that's about it for plans. It's kind of nice though since we're always so busy and driving into Hamilton for family occasions. But not this weekend! I spent today in sweats and makeup-free. I'm going to put together a nice dinner on Sunday for us and maybe make dessert. Today I attempted to make birds' nest cookies. But considering I had no eggs for the middle they looked silly. They're quite yummy though.



Cadbury Mini Eggs are my absolute favourite Easter candy. So far I haven't gotten any. I'm pretty sure Adam didn't pick any candy up for me either. I guess that means I'll be heading out Monday for some half price Mini Eggs!
