Runs on Coffee and Cream

I feel like I started prepping for Fan Expo Canada a long time ago.... Maybe 6 months ago I started sewing pillowcases to get ready. It paid off starting early though. I have more stock than ever before. I'm really happy with my tote bags and pouches. There's so many I'd keep for myself (I'll see what I have leftover). And my pillowcase selection is great. I have everything from Sailor Moon to Star Wars to Power Rangers to Pokemon.

I'm excited and nervous for Fan Expo this weekend. I'm always nervous for the first day of a show. Getting to the venue, registering, finding your table... it makes me nervous.

These are just a tiny sample of what I'll have with me at Fan Expo. And within 2 weeks after the show I should be doing a giant Etsy update of what I have leftover.

I was contacted after Wizard World Toronto about doing a custom order. I had sold Angie a tote bag and throw pillow at Wizard World. She had a couple of vintage sheets, Strawberry Shortcake and Ghostbusters, that she wanted turned into accessories and pillows.

I made a tote bag out of the adorable Strawberry Shortcake sheet that she had.


I also cut up the Ghostbusters sheet to make a pillowcase, zipper pouch, and a couple of throw pillows.



I was very happy with how everything turned out and Angie was too! I love doing custom orders for people. It's such a great feeling knowing that I'm able to make some thing that someone wants.

The weather has continued to be gorgeous this week, which has made it very hard to work inside everyday. Though, I have Saturday off and I'm looking forward to going to my parents' for a swim.

It seems crazy that Fan Expo is only 3 months away, and with the possibility of moving this summer, I need to continuously sew so I have enough product for this 4-day show.

I recently cut out some Powerpuff Girls and Sailor Moon pillowcases and I finished sewing up a few Harry Potter pillowcases as well. It's hard cutting up that fabric because it makes me want to keep it all for myself. Apparently, Logan also wants to keep all the fabric so he can snuggle with it.




I've also been going through my giant scrap pile and cutting out zipper pouches and kitty kickers. I will have so many nerdy pouches for Fan Expo because I'm using up all my scraps. My table is going to be packed!



I also finally finished updating Etsy with my leftover pillowcases from Wizard World Toronto. I've already had a few sales this past week so I'd recommend checking out my shop before they disappear!


I took pictures and measurements of my leftover zipper pouches this past weekend. I'll be starting to update those on Etsy over the weekend.
