Pokemon Day

Happy Pokemon Day! The Pokemon franchise turns 21 today which means there are events running this week in celebration. The one that has me excited is the Pokemon Go event. I plan on searching for some festive hat-wearing Pikachus this week, while hunting down Gen 2 Pokemon that were recently added to the game. Because, yes, I am one of the few people still playing the game!

To celebrate Pokemon I wanted to share my wish list for all things Pokemon because of course I need more Pokemon in my life.

2. Snorlax Bean Bag Chair
3. Pokemon Tattoo Flash Duffel Bag
4. Pokemon Starters Dress
5. Pokemon As Cats Print

Have a happy #PokemonDay!

Toronto Adventures

Last week Adam and I went to Toronto for a couple of days. We had absolutely gorgeous weather and we spent the entire time walking around downtown.

Our hotel room view. You can see the CN Tower right in the middle.

We hit up as many comic book, tabletop gaming, video games, and toy stores as we could fit in. I also squeezed in a visit to MAC makeup and Forever 21. Checking out these stores led us to purchasing some great things too.

I finally had the chance to check out Silver Snail's new location. I loved their Black Canary Cafe inside.

I also drank quite a bit of bubble tea while we wandered the city. There's a bubble tea place on every single block it seems and I had no self control.

We also played Pokemon Go for a good chunk of time. All the walking helped us hatch some eggs and we finally caught a Doduo there!

I insisted on finding a bakery nearby that sold French Macarons since we don't have any bakeries that sell them in Sudbury.

They even had a pumpkin spice one!

Second Cup doesn't have a stand alone location in Sudbury. It's inside the university here. So I've never tried their pumpkin spice latte. Well I stopped into a Second Cup in Toronto to finally try it and it did not disappoint! It's so creamy and spicy and was definitely better than Starbucks' version in my opinion.

I still feel like my body is recovering from this trip. The walking kicked my butt and I find I never sleep well anymore when I'm not in my own bed. It was a fun mini-vacation though and the perfect way to spend a couple of days at the beginning of the fall season.

What I'm Loving Now

Seriously, how is it August? It's bittersweet that Summer is half over. Summer has been so much fun this year but it'll be over before I know it. On the other hand, this means Autumn is around the corner which is easily my favourite season of them all!

Pokemon Go

One reason the last half of July flew by is because of the new app, Pokemon Go. We've been out for evening walks, made trips downtown, and spent time at the boardwalk catching Pokemon, fighting gyms, and stocking up on Poke balls. It's been incredibly fun, I'm getting lots of sunshine and my legs are a little sore from all the walking. But this game has made my days fly by. We race through our errands and chores so we can spend time walking around outside to find Pokemon.

Playing Pokemon in the car is interesting. You can find some really good Pokemon driving through different neighbourhoods, or you can end up with yet another Weedle on your knee.

I was hoping to catch so many Magikarp at the park but only one showed up flopping around on the pathway.

The one and only time I successfully beat a gym and left a Slowpoke to guard it.

Korean Face Masks

My skin has been better than ever this Summer. I'd like to think it's because of all the sunshine (which means lots of moisturizing sunscreen), lake water, and fresh air. But my weekly face masks might have something to do with it. I noticed my face getting a bit dried out at the beginning of Summer because of all the sunshine my skin was getting so I pulled out the few Korean face masks I had picked up this past Spring and decided to use one. Since then, I've used a couple of green tea face masks and a coconut gel one. And all of them have left my face brighter and more clear. So these have become my obsession and I'm so excited to hit up The Face Shop during my next visit to Hamilton.

My current face mask collection after receiving a couple of new ones for my birthday. I'm super excited to try the Egg Cream Mask and Panda Eye Patches.

What have you been loving lately?

Fandom Favourites: Pokemon Go

I highly doubt I have to explain to anyone what Pokemon Go is. If so, just check out this post about the new Pokemon app. Since late Sunday night, when the game was officially released in Canada, I have gone on 4 walks in my neighbourhood to look for Pokemon. This game is seriously going to get me in shape at this rate considering it's only Wednesday.

To share my love for Pokemon and how much fun I'm having playing Pokemon Go, I rounded up my top favourite Pokemon t-shirt designs that have been popping up in my email inbox (thanks to TeeFury, RiptApparel, and TeeTurtle).

Clockwise from top right box:

1. Where's the Gym? by TeeTurtle
2. Certified Trainer by Oktobear
3. Tiny Turtle Trained by Huino
4. Gotta Fit Them All by DoOomcat
5. PikaPooh by Ste7en Lefcourt

Have you been playing Pokemon Go? Are you enjoying it? The servers have been a little unstable this week and my phone has the worst GPS signal apparently since my trainer is constantly running around the map, but overall we're having a fun time catching Pokemon!
