Hello July

Happy Canada Day! Unfortunately, it's cold and rainy here today. It's nice to have a day off to get things done at home, but it would have been nice to have some sunshine to head outside for a bit today. I feel bad for everyone wanting to set off fireworks tonight since it's so wet and chilly out there.

It's hard to believe today is July 1st. At the rate that June flew by at, Summer is going to be over sooner than I'd like. Which means I better take every opportunity I get to eat cotton candy, head outside in the sun, and go swimming.

I've completely fallen head over heels for pastel colours recently. Whether it's because they have a vintage Summer appeal or remind me of hanging out at the beach, either way I've been feeling inspired by muted, pretty colours.

What are you looking forward to in July?

My Life in Photos

Moving day is this week! Eeek! July was a great month but it blows my mind that it's pretty much over.

We started the month off watching fireworks at Bell Park for Canada Day.

I love seeing the fireworks over the lake.

I was shocked to see Autumn-scented candles at Bath and Body Works already. But honestly, I'm not complaining.

I seriously love how much my kitties love each other.

From another walk at Moonlight beach.

I'm currently reading the Age of Apocalypse saga. It's pretty great.

I bought the new Miss Manga mascara from L'Oreal so I've been playing around with my makeup a bit more this month.

I hope July was fabulous for you!

Weekly Adventures

So last week was Canada Day and I was really lucky to see some fireworks. Adam worked all day so I didn't know if we'd be going out but he was up for heading to the lake. After finding parking and walking over to Lake Ramsey, we located the perfect spot along the lake to set up our chairs. We didn't know what to expect of the Science North fireworks but we were very happy with them once they started! They had some really big ones and they looked so pretty over the water because of the reflection.

This past weekend I went to Hamilton to stay at my parents'. Since my birthday is this upcoming Saturday, I celebrated with friends and family over the weekend. It was a hot weekend so I went swimming a couple of times and we had barbecues, a bonfire, and just enjoyed the weather. This was the sky above my parents' house on Saturday night. It was gorgeous!

On Sunday I went to Pacific Mall with a couple of friends. We stocked up on Pocky and other treats. We also drank lots of bubble tea (which only made my popping boba addiction worse) and ate crepes!
Treats at Pacific Mall... I'm addicted to popping boba!

This week has been productive so far for us. We set up our new aquarium yesturday and got a few fish today. We'll be picking up the rest of the fish on Saturday. It's so peaceful watching the fish swim around.
Aquarium set up with a few fish so far.. We still have to add a few more plants and about 5 more fish and a couple of dwarf frogs.

On Monday we announced our first Instavideo Challenge for IGGPPC! I posted my first video today. It's a bit more nerve-racking since it's video but I will admit, it only took 3 takes for me to feel comfortable with my Intro video! Day 5: Dance Party should be interesting...

I'm excited for this upcoming weekend and my birthday. I don't have any crazy plans - just a morning at the market, buying more fish for the aquarium and then we're going out for dinner.

My Life in Photos

It's been a crazy busy couple of weeks for us. Me and Adam celebrated our first wedding anniversary together on June 25. I had to work that day but I came home to Adam making us homemade pasta for dinner. We had pasta, wine, and ice cream. It was a perfect evening. A couple days later we went to Niagara Falls with my parents for dinner and to walk around the Falls for a bit. It was a wonderful first anniversary.

So hot and humid. My hair has been up most days.

I had to take a picture of this guy posing with one leg.

Adam knows the key to my heart... ice cream! Both were really good, especially the PB&J!

So fricking hot. #redhead #ginger
I cannot decide if I want bangs again or not. In this heat it seems like a horrible idea but I'm just so unhappy with my hair lately. I've been watching Cougar Town recently and I'm so in love with Busy Philipps hair in the first season with her side bangs.

This past weekend was our long weekend because of Canada Day. We spent the night at my Aunt's trailer. It was so much fun. We went swimming in the freezing cold Lake Erie, had a barbecue, went for a walk and explored an abandoned house, set off fireworks, and then had a bonfire.

This week has continued to be hot and humid. I'm working all weekend and it's so hot at work too. I have a feeling my evenings will be pretty lazy over the next couple of days since I'll be sitting in front of the fan at home.

Have a great weekend!
