Halloween Things

Halloween is around the corner and I'm getting into the Halloween mood! Between TV shows, video games, movies, and activities, Halloween is everywhere.

TV
The Walking Dead, iZombie, Scream Queens - All these shows have a horror genre theme. Watching their new episodes every week makes October feel extra spooky and a bit campy.

Video Games
Left 4 Dead - Adam and I started Left 4 Dead recently and it's so much fun. Also, a little creepy too. At one point in a campaign, I turned my character around really quickly and found myself face to face with a zombie. Well, a scream escaped my mouth and Adam couldn't stop making fun of me.
Movies
Scream 4, The Shining - We buy a lot of second-hand movies from the Hock Shop here. We picked up these movies and figured we'd watch them this month to fit with the Halloween theme.

Activities
24 Hour Halloween Party - Over at IGGPPC we're hosting another Halloween party! We're in the midst of organizing activities and blog posts. I'm very excited for everything. I'll of course be planning a yummy Halloween treat for it.

Pumpkin Carving - We picked up a couple of pumpkins yesterday which means we'll be carving them soon. It's been a tradition every since we started dating and now that we have a house, it's nice to keep them out front and light them on Halloween night.

Do you have any fun plans for Halloween or leading up to the big night?

Fall Television

The Fall television season is upon us. A few shows have started up already - Awkward, Faking It, Fear The Walking Dead - but the majority of the shows won't start for at least another week. (Elementary doesn't start till November *sad face*.)

There are a lot of shows that I'm looking forward to coming back; iZombie, The Mindy Project, Gotham, Elementary, Grimm, etc. But after spending an afternoon looking up the new television shows airing this season, I wasn't super impressed. We'll be trying out a handful of new shows but I'm not sold on a lot of them.

There are a couple that I'm actually excited for however. These are the new shows I'm looking forward to the most:

Life In Pieces

"Life In Pieces is a single-camera comedy about one big happy family and their sometimes awkward, often hilarious and ultimately beautiful milestone moments as told by its various members. Of the three siblings, middle child Matt may have just found his true love, his co-worker, Colleen; his coddled youngest brother, Greg, and his wife, Jen, are overwhelmed by the birth of their first child; and the eldest, Heather, and her husband, Tim, are dreading their impending empty nest so much, they're considering having another baby. Their parents are Joan, the family's adoring matriarch who would do anything for her kids – as long as she agrees with it – and John, the gregarious patriarch who's searching for ways to soften the blow of turning 70. As the family's lives unfold in four short stories each week, they try to savor these little pieces of time that flash by but stay with you forever, because these moments add up to what life's all about."

The cast is fantastic, the trailer looks really funny, and I think the concept will work.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

"A young woman abandons a choice job at a law firm and her life in New York in an attempt to find love in the unlikely locale of West Covina, California."

Have you seen the trailer for this show?! No? Go watch it now. I'll wait. I love everything about the trailer and I want to love the show! It's a musical, looks hilarious, and Rachel Bloom is adorable!

Scream Queens

"After a 1995 sorority pledge gone wrong, someone is out for vengeance when a college campus is rattled by a series of murders at the twentieth anniversary of the crime."

This is another show that I really want to see based on the cast. I LOVE Jamie Lee Curtis, and let's be honest, the rest of the cast looks like they'll have interesting roles in the show. Check out the Scream Queens YouTube channel here for the trailer and clips and teasers for the show. I think it looks good, in a super campy and cheesy way.

What new shows are you looking forward to? What shows are you looking forward to returning?
