To Do List: January

It's cold. Today when I woke up it felt like -40 degrees Celsius with the windchill and it didn't warm up much. This afternoon it felt like -35. It's easy to be a homebody in this weather. Stay in a warm house, drinking hot drinks, and wrapped in blankets. Don't get me wrong, that was how I spent most of my morning and evening. But I have to get out of the house sometimes. I need sunshine and to just leave the house.

So in spirit of getting out of the house or at least off the couch this month, typically one of the colder Winter months, here's my January to do list:

- ice skating on Ramsey Lake
- exercising regularly at home
- have a board game night, even if it's just with Adam
- start prepping for my first comic convention of the season (March is not that far away... eeek!)
- go for snowy but sunny afternoon walks

What are your favourite Winter activities?

  1. I have yet to go sledding with my daughter this year! That's my fave winter activity, tied with walks in the snow. We got a good amount of snow last week, but it's been in the single or negative digits and that is just too cold to be outside!

    1. Walks in the snow are great! I haven't been sledding in years. I should change that.

  2. I love the idea of having a winter to do list to keep active when it's so cold! And I've been trying to exercise at home every day too.

    1. When Winter takes over 5-6 months of the year here, I have to learn to like the outdoors in this weather haha. We're actually planning a snow shoeing day.

  3. I've been going on lots of wintery walks recently and discovered they can still be lots of fun despite the freezing temperatures (although they're nothing compared to yours) if I have tea to look forward to at the end an a boy to keep me company :p xxx

    1. Going home to a hot drink after a cold Winter walk is so nice. Wrapping in a blanket is also lovely after.
