Springtime Itch

As I've gotten older I appreciate and enjoy Winter more. I'm a big fan of hibernating indoors with hot drinks, blankets, and wearing layers upon layers. But it comes to a point when I start to long for sunshine, a warm breeze, and opening up my windows to let in fresh air. I'm at that point.

This past weekend we went to Hamilton to visit family and friends. There was barely any snow on the ground and the weather hit a high of 17 degrees Celsius on Sunday which melted any lingering snow. It felt so nice! I went outside in my cardigan and you could smell barbecues throughout the neighbourhood. We then came home Monday to a foot of snow in our driveway and this morning we woke up to more. We've been home less than 3 days and we've already shoveled twice.

This is why I'm done with Winter and longing for Spring. I had a preview of it this past weekend and I'm so ready for it!

I know it's going to take a while for all the snow to melt and go away, and really, we don't want it to go away too fast or we'll be dealing with flooding throughout the city. But the fact that we are supposed to be above 0 degrees next week for a few days has me happy.

This is my Springtime inspiration right now:

Are you looking forward to Spring?
