Autumn Hike

A couple of weeks ago we went for a hike at Laurentian Conservation Area. It was very overcast and rain threatened us all afternoon but it stayed away for the duration of our hike.

We picked a new path which was a little hard. There was a lot of climbing up rocks and since there were fallen leaves everywhere, I couldn't always see where to safely put my foot. But the colours were absolutely gorgeous and I'm so happy we went before all the leaves fell.

The only 'stairs' along the path we took. After this it was rocks.

I'm a little sad that so many of the leaves are now on the ground and no longer vibrant reds and oranges. Winter is coming...

  1. This is so gorgeous! Great photography skills. I live right near a lake so you would think I would get out and take more hikes, but unfortunately it's all developed around it and there aren't any trails.

    1. Thanks! Oh, that's sad about no trails. As soon as we moved to this city, I fell in love with all the lakes and I love that there's some walking trails around a lot of them.

  2. What stunning views- it definitely looks worth the scrambling! Those leaves are beautiful; it's such a shame they don't last longer xxx

    1. I know! The leaves are all gone here. We have bare trees and snow on the ground!
