Long Weekend

Today marks the end of the last long weekend for the summer. It's sad that summer's over since that means the hubby is back to school (last year though!) and he'll be busy studying but I can't deny the fact that I'm excited for Fall weather and food! I can't wait to eat pumpkin-flavoured everything... I'll save that for a later post however.

Friday evening and Saturday were a blast! We went to Niagara Falls for the night and took in some fun, yet tacky, attractions with family and friends. We got some funny pictures at the wax museum and the night flew by! My favourite part of Niagara Falls is checking out the Fudge Factory. You can watch them making the fudge and decorating the other decadent treats they sell.

After our evening of exploring Clifton Hill we went to Great Wolf Lodge and spent the night there. This of course meant we spent the majority of Saturday swimming and doing water slide after water slide. If you've never been to Great Wolf Lodge, but you thoroughly enjoy water parks, I'd recommend going with friends or family. It's a lot of fun and the park is really amazing.

The last two days I've been recovering from our fun 24 hour adventure in the Falls. I finished up a good chunk from my to-do list and did up some baking... cranberry-almond biscotti, peach jam, and carrot muffins.

And of course the kitties have been getting into trouble the last couple of days since I've been around.. but after being curious and trying to get into my fabric or climb on the counter while I'm baking, they get tired and just pass out anywhere...

It's too bad I'm back to work tomorrow... this weekend has been fun and very productive. At least it's 4 days until the next weekend!

  1. Looks so delicious! I've never been to Great Wolf Lodge, but I don't think I will ever go there either due to te fact I dislike water parks.

    Glad you enjoyed your weekend!
