May Book Wish List

My book wish list is HUGE. Thankfully, I have an e-reader so it's more affordable than buying physical copies. Here are my May release book picks:

By The Book
By Jasmine Guillory

Overworked and underpaid, Isabelle is having second thoughts about her job as an editorial assistant. Third and fourth thoughts, too. Besides being the only Black employee in the entire publishing house, Izzy can’t even make enough money to get her own place. But perspectives start to shift when she meets reclusive writer Beau Towers, who’s just as lost and lonesome as she is. Jasmine Guillory reimagines a classic fairy tale in this second installment of the Disney Meant to Be series.

I LOVE Jasmine Guillory's books. I describe them as romantic comedies in book form. I fly through her books.

Family of Liars
By E. Lockhart

The highly anticipated prequel to We Were Liars—winner of the 2014 Goodreads Choice Award for Best Young Adult Fiction—Family of Liars introduces an earlier generation of the severely complicated Sinclair family. Details about the story itself are slim, but advance material promises more family drama, a private island off the coast of Massachusetts, and “a summer of unforgivable betrayal and terrible mistakes.” Those summers are the worst.
I read We Were Liars years ago and it was SO good. The twist... it got me good and I couldn't put the book down. I'm so excited for this prequel.

Book Lovers
By Emily Henry

Natives of North Carolina can tell you: It’s a surprisingly romantic place. Veteran romance author Emily Henry (Beach Read) is back with a love story set in the Tar Heel State. (Why Tar Heel? Weird story.) Book Lovers spotlights a blossoming romance between a cutthroat literary agent and a brooding book editor. Doesn’t seem promising, does it? But the vibe changes drastically when Nora Stephens and Charlie Lastra meet up in rural NC. Location, location, location!

I love a good romance book, especially in summer. This sounds like a fun read!

What's on your to-read list this month? Any releases coming out soon that you're excited for?
