Moving and Dreams

Over the last month and a half me and Adam have made some big decisions for our life together. We went over different scenarios, wrote out pro/con lists, and sat down and budgeted out the next few years of our life. Long story short, we're moving back to Hamilton at the beginning of September. It made the most sense for us in every single aspect of our life. Adam just started a new job there and I have a job lined up for me as well.

Besides the fact that we'll be in the same city as family and friends again, we also get to move into a new apartment. We decided to go a bit bigger and get an extra bedroom and this will be my first apartment with a balcony. I'm pretty excited to sit out on the balcony and have tea in the evenings, decorate it during the Christmas season, and then grow some tomatoes come next summer. It's exciting starting fresh in a new place and the stress of being in a strange town is now gone.

I've been finding myself daydreaming about how I want to organize the new apartment and where things will go. Pinterest has become my best friend and my enemy during all of this. I long for rooms that I know are not possible right now, but looking up 'small rooms' or 'apartments' definitely gives you some good, realistic ideas that we can use.

I need to go to Ikea for supplies so I can put up a rod to hang up small pots and colanders like this.

Adam told me we can put up a small shelf for my teas and supplies. I'm excited to have a bit of wall space in the kitchen.

I adore the size of this hutch.

Living area:

So many bookshelves... this won't be happening until we settle down in a house one day. With our book/comic/movie collection, these will be necessary in the future.

I'm getting pretty excited about the move. I guess because Adam isn't in school anymore and he's been working full-time, I'm feeling more grown up now. Things are just really good and I feel positive about our future.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and thanks for all your support <3

  2. Happy moving then, I am moving too and also daydreaming (I think it is a girly thing), although in a very financially limited way :) Those pictures look great and IKEA is definitely a good place to shop!!

  3. Congrats on the new apartment, that's so exciting! It's so much fun decorating a new place and I love that picture of the living room with the blue shelves. Our lease runs out November and while we both want to move out of state, I think Aar loves his 'new' job too much to leave :(

    1. It's so difficult figuring out where to live and jobs... it's made being an adult stressful. Thank you though! xo
